Custom Closet design is all about Form and Function
Lucky for you, I have an extensive background in design and a passion for solutions that strike a balance between form and function. Below are some of my favorite closet systems and products.
- Elfa systems from The Container Store: These closets are easy to use, versatile, affordable, and of excellent quality. There are similar systems available from big-box hardware stores and online websites, but they often lack quality and versatility. Elfa systems are great for bedrooms, kids’ closets (grow as your kids grow!), pantries, garages, office spaces, and more!
- If you need Elfa, I’m a certified designer and work with their dedicated installers.
- I ADORE their over-door organizing systems (see above). Solid and wire shelf options are available, along with a range of accessories.
Beyond Elfa: Other Custom Closet Design Resources
- Over-the-door “Shoe” organizers- I especially like clear pockets so you can see whatever you store in each pocket!
- Shoe Boxes by Iris or TCS– Many others are readily available in various retail stores. I chose these two because they are well-made, stack easily, are clear, and look neat.
- Hangers are such a personal choice, but here’s a link to a whole post I did on hanger types!
Shelf dividers are a great way to keep bags or stacks of clothing organized and tidy.
